Already on its fourth year, it was still surprisingly our first time to attend Wanderland Music and Arts Festival. Yes! Titas and Titos of Manila reprezzzent! Noticeably Wanderland Music Festival is for the younger crowd but with Bon Iver and Death Cab for Cutie headlining this year, we were sure we wouldn’t let this one pass. Otherwise we will be regrettably singing “What might have been lost…” on repeat.
BON IVER
Bon Iver’s performance was like listening to a perfectly mastered record, amplified ten times on stage. Each song was powerful but effortlessly played, with each tug of the string piercing straight through ones most buried heartaches. Complimenting them on stage are The Staves, an English trio of women, whose voices soothes the soul after Justin rips your heart. The emotions during their set was just overflowing, I was choking up when Justin asked the crowd to sing “What might have been lost” and when he sang Skinny Love. Completing their performance are the dramatic lights and on-screen visuals, for without it, I wouldn’t be able to capture the magic while rubbing elbows with a full-packed crowd.
